ABOUT ME
I have an extensive healthcare career where I worked as a Registered Nurse for nearly 17 years in the field of Obstetrics before diving into a Master’s of Nursing Degree that I completed in 2017. That degree earned me the designation of Nurse Practitioner, and has opened so many doors to different avenues of medicine I never thought possible. After completing my Master’s Degree, I worked in the not-for-profit sector providing Primary Health Care services. While this job really excited me as far as creating a challenge and immense learning opportunities, I always felt that I had other talents that were not being fulfilled.
Throughout my entire life, even before becoming a nurse, I always jumped at the chance to help my friends and family look and feel their best—whether it was helping them find the perfect outfit, or doing their hair and makeup for special events. It’s puzzling to me that I didn’t find myself in the aesthetics industry sooner. Enter AMPLIFY THERAPEUTICS INC. In 2020, I completed a course in neuromodulator injections that helps to marry my two passions of healthcare and aesthetics together. My goal is not to make your face immobile or to dramatically change how you look. I’m much more interested in helping people smooth away insecurities to amplify their look and their self esteem.

WHAT IS NUROMODULAR INJECTION?
Great question!
A neuromodulator is an injectable medication used to cosmetically relax specific muscles of the upper face, lower face, and neck to help improve or lessen the appearance of dynamic and/or static wrinkles and fine lines. These medications can also be used therapeutically to target hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), bruxism (jaw clenching/teeth grinding), headaches and migraines.
Neuromodulators may also be referred to as toxins, as they all typically contain the toxin Botulism. Common names of neuromodulators that you may be familiar with include Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Nuceiva and others.

WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?
The procedure generally involves a series of ‘before’ pictures. These are kept as part of your medical record and will not be used for promotional purposes without your consent.
Next, the injection sites are carefully cleansed and land-marked. This step is incredibly important as while there are general rules of thumb with regards to facial anatomy, injectors cannot see under the skin, so must use landmarks and careful palpation to determine the injection sites that will garner the best results and minimize adverse effects.
Then, using a very fine needle, the land-marked locations are injected. Most people note that they are aware that they are being injected, but that the procedure is generally not painful.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AFTER A NEUROMODULATOR INJECTION?
Immediately after the injections, you can expect slight redness and very minor bleeding from the injection sites. The redness will fade over the time, so there is virtually no down time involved.
You MUST avoid touching your face and remain upright for 4-6 hours post-procedure so that the product stays where the injector intentionally placed it. You must also avoid strenuous exercise, hot tubs/saunas/baths for roughly 24 hours post procedure.
